The quarterly check that fits on a refrigerator magnet
A single-line rotation reminder households actually follow, adapted from Ulsan apartment kitchens.
Most register systems fail not on setup day but on month four, when nobody remembers who verified the bookshelf envelope last. Digital reminders get silenced; paper on the fridge survives.
We print a magnet template the size of a business card:

Below it, three boxes: Active · Cold · Shared. One box gets circled each quarter. The person circling it opens only the corresponding tab in the folio, confirms the location code still matches the physical spot, and signs the margin.
Families with school-age children sometimes let the child initial the magnet after watching a parent perform the check—visibility matters more than who turns the screw on a capsule.
The magnet lives next to the grocery list, not inside the safe. Its job is to interrupt routine, not to hide custody information. Detailed entries remain in the folio in the desk drawer.
